Biographie

A science student majoring in psychology, Francis Verreault-Paul led the nation in goals during each of his sophomore and junior seasons... In his freshman campaign, he scored 26 points in 24 regular season games (13-13-26)... There was no sophomore jinx in 2009-10 for the speedy 5-foot-10, 178-pound left winger, who exploded for 25 goals and 54 points in 27 contests, tying him for the nation's lead in goals and giving him second place in the CIS scoring race, three points back of UNB's Hunter Tremblay. Verreault-Paul was voted OUA player of the year, earned All-Canadian honours and became the first McGill player to win the OUA scoring race since current Montreal Canadiens forward Mathieu Darche accomplished the feat in 1999-00... In his junior campaign, Verreault-Paul was on pace to re-write the record book but missed 10 games with a high ankle sprain suffered at UNB over the Christmas holidays. Despite that, he still managed to lead the CIS in goals. He posted a 28-14-42 record in only 19 games, earning OUA all-conference honours and winning the Guy Lafleur trophy as the Quebec university hockey player who best combines athletic performance with academic prowess... He enters the 2011-12 season with a career record of 91 goals and 173 points in 117 games overall, including an 18-18-36 dossier in 31 career post-season contests. He is on pace to break the all-time McGill records for goals (136) and points (267)... The 24-year-old forward, who hails from the Innu community of Mashteuiatsh, near Roberval, on the western shores of Lac St. Jean, Que., played his major junior hockey with the Chicoutimi Saguen
