BiographyThe 6-foot-1 netminder rejoined the Americans for his third go-around on January 21st, 2021. Paterson has spent the majority of his pro career in the ECHL and has played in a handful of games in AHL. Along with the two seasons he has spent in Allen prior to this oneIn total, he has spent seven seasons in the ECHL and has a record of 95-56-12 in 160 games played. While in the AHL, he has spent time with the Gard Rapids Griffins, Milwaukee Admirals, and the Belleville Senators. Prior to going pro back in 2015 with the Toledo Walleye, he spent five seasons in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit and the Kitchener Rangers. He had a GAA of 3.29 and a Save% of 0.907 in those five seasons. The 26-year-old netminder played in 14 games with the team during the 17-18 season after being loaned to Allen from Milwaukee (AHL). Paterson appeared in 28 games for Allen last season and posted a record of 18-5-4. The Mississauga, ONT, native was a former third-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings during the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. In Paterson’s 2020-21 season debut he would pitch a shutout stopping all 31 shots he faced, including 11 shots in the final period.
