Junior / College Teams: Fargo Force (USHL) / Michigan Tech University (NCAA) Kero signed a two-year, two-way contract with the NHL’s Dallas Stars on May 17, 2021. He returned to the Texas roster for the second-half of the 2021-22 season after spending a year and a half in Dallas. He scored five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 28 games at the AHL level last season and has 50 points with 13 goals and 37 assists in 77 career games with Texas. In his AHL career, he has 274 games logged, 77 goals and 114 assists for 191 points. He played in his 100th NHL game Apr. 20, 2021 where he scored the opening goal en route to an eventual 5-2 Dallas Stars win over the Detroit Red Wings. He finished his first season in Dallas tied for the team lead with 25 assists and third with 33 points. He completed the 2018-19 season in Utica with 33 assists and 11 power-play goals while ranking second with 24 goals and 57 points. He tallied his first career hat trick Jan. 6, 2019, at Cleveland before recording a second one Jan. 15, 2020, as part of a 5-2 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He appeared in four Stanley Cup Playoff games with Chicago in 2017 and made his NHL debut Oct. 29, 2015, against in Winnipeg as a member of the Blackhawks, before picking up his first NHL goal Nov. 6, 2015 at New Jersey. Kero captained Michigan Tech University during his senior season (2014-15), led the program in scoring with 46 points (20-26=46), and propelled the team to a second-place finish in the WCHA.
