Biography
McNeill was drafted 18th overall by Chicago in 2011 and has two games of NHL experience. He played parts of six seasons in the Chicago organization with most that time with Rockford. He set a career high in 2015-16 with 25 goals and 48 points for the IceHogs and was an AHL All-Star in 2015. He was traded to Dallas February 28, 2017, joining the Texas Stars for all but one game for the rest of the season. He re-signed with them during the offseason but was traded February 3, 2018 to the Nashville organization. Between the Milwaukee Admirals and Texas Stars, McNeill scored 14 goals and 25 points in 49 games during the 2017-18 season. Prior to his pro career, McNeill played five seasons in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders. In 276 games he scored 97 goals and 146 assists for 243 points. He represented Canada in the 2013 World Junior Championships and at the 2011 U-18 World Junior Championships. McNeill joins the Boston organization after agreeing to a 1-year, 2-way deal at the start of free agency.
